Joe Damon: Brain Injury Survivor

‚ÄčI entered my 50's in March, 2007. I have two wonderful children, Kate and Paul. I have had the wife of my dreams, Lynn, for 25 wondrous years. I spent many years as an employee of UTC (United Technologies Corporation), first with Pratt & Whitney (Jet Engines), then with Hamilton Sundstrand. I started my own consulting company in 2004 (Leading Lean Evolution) and worked with many companies, both domestic and international. I was working and living in Italia, helping a large corporation apply lean practices to improve their market share when I was involved in a very bad car accident on January 31, 2006 and I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. My recovery is slow, but, steady, thanks to the love and support of my friends, family, and therapists. In the past, I was a competitive triathlete. My athletic conditioning may have saved my life. Lynn and I did some long-distance bicycling, especially around New England. When I lived in Italy, I made some nice bike tours there. For two years we spent nearly every weekend bicycling on the Amalfi cioast. We had a great time in Italy. I sometimes believe that I was living a dream come true. Living in Italy was like being in heaven.
